There are lots of fun and family-friendly events happening in January and February in Round Rock, Pflugerville and Hutto. While not comprehensive, the following list details some of the more prominent events and activities in our area.

Jan. 14: See a rock show

Jan. 14: Get cold at Winter Pfest

After a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Pflugerville Public Library will again host Winter Pfest. Jan. 21: Attend an album release party

The Three Legged Goat wine bar in Pflugerville will host an album release party from recording artist Keith Hampton. Originally from Wisconsin, Hampton is an Austin-based folk musician who is promoting his newest album, “Beyond.” Hampton will give a live performance, and attendees may select from a variety of Texas wines for purchase from the selection at Three Legged Goat. 8-11 p.m. Free. Jan. 21: Practice reading with miniature horses

The Pflugerville Public Library will have miniature therapy horses available for children to practice reading to at its Hooves and Read event. Jan. 22: Catch a concert with a side of barbecue

The Pflugerville Arts Council is hosting a “Boogie & BBQ” concert featuring classical, jazz and gospel duo Artina and Martin McCain. The event will include food from the Ray’s BBQ food truck and a raffle for gift cards from downtown Pflugerville businesses. 4 p.m. Free admission. Jan. 25: Log into a virtual job fair

Jan. 27: Foster a bonding experience

The Fellowship Church will host a 1970s-themed father-daughter dance that will include opportunities for photos to be taken. Jan. 28: Celebrate a new library

Jan. 28: Attend a ’20s-themed gala

The Hutto Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual fundraising gala will honor local businesses and community members with awards. Feb. 9: Participate in an adult craft night

Feb. 10: Take your daughter to a dance

The Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a dance at the ballroom of Kalahari Resorts. Called the Daddy Daughter Dance-You Are My Sunshine, the event includes light snacks and a dance contest. A professional photographer will be in attendance and available for an extra fee.
