According to a release from the MUD, under the voluntary restrictions, residents can water their lawns two days per week. Residents of addresses ending in odd numbers may choose to water on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, while residents whose addresses end in even numbers may choose to water on Wednesdays, Fridays or Sundays.
Under these recommendations, residents who opt in to the restrictions may operate automatic sprinkler systems between 12:01-7 a.m. on their selected watering days, while hose-end sprinklers may be operated before 10 a.m. and after 7 p.m. Hand watering is permissible under these restrictions at any point in the day, according to the release.
The restrictions were implemented as part of the MUD's Drought Contingency and Emergency Water Management Plan after the Brazos River Authority initiated a drought watch condition, according to the MUD.
Similarly, Round Rock issued Stage 1 watering restrictions June 29, asking residents to limit watering to conserve water sources.
