Regarding the outcome of the race, Zárate told Community Impact he looks forward to working with Melissa Ross and Mingyuan "Michael" Wei, the apparent victors for Places 2 and 7.

"I am extremely excited that the people of Round Rock ISD chose to give me a four-year term," Zárate told Community Impact. "I will continue to advocate for our students, teachers, and staff. It feels like an uphill battle is on the horizon, but we aren't going to stop pushing for what is right where students are concerned. I also think that Melissa Ross and Dr. Michael Wei are amazing additions to this board. They will fit in great with the existing board because they bring unique talents and backgrounds to the table. We are going to do great things for the students, teachers and staff of this jewel of a district."
