Residents of Round Rock ISD cast ballots in the Nov. 5 election to determine which candidate will serve on the board of trustees in Place 2 for the next four years.

The specifics
Unofficial polling information from early voting shows Ross garnered 62.56% of early ballots cast, representing 40,328 votes. Challenger April Guerra received 37.44% of early ballots cast, representing 24,139 votes.
About the candidates
Guerra is a financial analyst and district parent who said her priorities, if elected, include improved resources and programs for students with learning differences, equitable resources across schools in the district and increasing the graduation rate to 90%.
Ross is a former RRISD teacher, as well as a community advocate who has held leadership roles within the district as well as the parent-teacher association. She told Community Impact her priorities include policies centered around students that focus on equity and accessibility, as well as transparent budgeting and more competitive salaries to support teachers.
