What will be your top priorities if you are elected?



I will focus on academic achievement, safety and security, and the budget. 



What uniquely qualifies you for this position?



My years of experience as an hourly and salaried district employee have allowed me to experience all facets of being an educator and given me a clear understanding of what is needed in our schools. 












Christie Slape



Experience: Former high school Spanish teacher; parent of four Round Rock ISD students; community and school volunteer; church leader.


Occupation: Board certified professional organizer







What will be your top priorities if you are elected?



I will prioritize academic excellence for all children in RRISD, protect children with safe and secure schools, and preserve parental rights in all aspects of their children’s education. I will commit to respecting taxpayer dollars with every decision I make as a trustee.



What uniquely qualifies you for this position?



I know education from the inside out, as both a former public school teacher and a parent of four children with unique educational needs. I actively communicate with the district over community concerns, and I have the determination to solve problems the district currently faces.












Amy Weir*



Experience: 2004-2018 numerous PTA positions at Pond Springs Elementary, Deerpark Middle School, McNeil High School and Council of PTAs, including president at Deerpark and McNeil; 2013 Leadership RRISD graduate; Served on the past three RRISD Citizen Bond Committees: 2014, 2017, and 2018; 2022 Leadership TASB graduate; Currently the Place 5 RRISD Board Trustee.

What will be your top priorities if you are elected?



Continue addressing learning loss and advocating for our Title I campuses especially, and for all campuses and student groups to get the individualized funding, resources, and support they need. School finance is an ongoing issue, balancing the budget and paying our staff what they deserve is very important to me.



What uniquely qualifies you for this position?



The knowledge I have accumulated over the past 4 years on the Board, 2 as President, and my many years of volunteering in RRISD gives me the experience needed to carry out the duties of a Trustee.  I was designated a Master Trustee by the Texas Association of School Boards.
