Round Rock ISD administrators shared in April that the district found a home for its future career and technology education center at 9900 Spectrum Drive, Austin.

What you need to know

The Spectrum Drive property will be home to educational programming for electrical trades, cosmetology, automotive, autobody, early childhood and the district's 18+ program, according to the district.

The facility is a former Legal Zoom office and will provide over 200,000 square feet of educational space for students in these programs.

The details

RRISD paid $37.75 million for the facility, the district announced April 1. That is $15 million lower than the approved cost for a facility to house CTE programming.

These cost savings will be used for a facility remodel to better support RRISD students in the CTE program.

What else?

Additionally, the facility will provide practice space for the district's robotics program, and a welcome center for RRISD staff, families and the community.
