Rosh Hashanah will be a student holiday in the 2025-26 school year, after the Round Rock ISD board of trustees approved an academic calendar for the next school year.

Trustees approved the academic calendar option Sept. 19.

District administrators presented a final recommendation for draft option No. 2, which includes Rosh Hashanah as a student holiday on Sept. 22. It also includes the following:
  • The first day of school would be Aug. 13.
  • The first student and staff holiday would be Sept. 1.
  • Fall break would occur Nov. 24-28.
  • Winter break would begin Dec. 19 and end Jan. 6.
  • Spring break would be March 16-20.
  • The last day of school would be May 21.
What's next?

Per a district presentation, a similar process of community surveying will be used to create school calendars for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 school years that will be brought to the board in November and October.
