During their first meeting of the new school year, Round Rock ISD trustees are set to continue finalizing bond discussions and conduct other business of the district on Aug. 15.

What you need to know

The deadline for a school bond election to be called and appear on the Nov. 5 ballot is Aug. 19. Trustees have until that time to call a bond election once amounts for the proposed projects and propositions have been set. Otherwise, the district's next opportunity to call a bond election will be for the May election cycle.

In addition to considering whether to call a bond, the board will vote on a measure to call a trustee election.

The terms for places 1, 2 and 7 on the RRISD board of trustees will expire in November. These seats are occupied by Place 1 trustee Chuy Zárate, Place 2 trustee Mary Bone and Place 7 trustee Danielle Weston.

The filing window to appear on the ballot in the 2024 election will close Aug. 19 at 5 p.m., per the Texas Secretary of State's Office.
