What you need to know
The filing period for candidacy in the May 4 board election will open Jan. 17, per the district. Those interested in filing for a place on the ballot can pick up a hard copy of the application at the district's Central Administration building at 200 College St. or print their own copy at home to file with the district.
Two board seats, occupied by trustees James Matlock and Amy English, are up for re-election in May. Candidates elected to each seat will serve for three years.
What else?
The filing period for the May election will close Feb. 16 at 5 p.m., and Feb. 20 is the deadline to file a declaration of write-in candidacy.
