Residents of Round Rock ISD cast ballots in races for a proposition to fund raises for teachers and staff in the Nov. 7 election.

Early voting and unofficial Election Day polling information for both counties were reported after 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. respectively, representing ballots cast Oct. 23-Nov. 3, as well as votes cast Nov. 7.

The specifics


Proposition A would allow trustees to award 3% increases to eligible district employees if the district's voter-approval tax rate election has a favorable outcome. The increases will be funded by a $0.03 addition to the tax rate, should voters pass the measure.

“As you know, 85% of our budget is in people,” RRISD Superintendent Hafedh Azaiez said ahead of the election. “We’re really talking about eliminating positions. We need $12 million more dollars.”

Of votes in both Williamson and Travis counties, 73.24% of ballots submitted were in favor of the initiative, with 26.76% against.
