Those interested in learning more about the budget for the upcoming 2023-24 school year in Round Rock ISD will have two opportunities to attend information sessions from the district.

RRISD officials will host two virtual information sessions from 6-7 p.m. April 28 and May 1 with attendees required to register in advance. Platform restrictions limit attendance to the first 1,000 registrants, but a recording of the sessions will be made available.

RRISD Superintendent Hafedh Azaiez said the information sessions are intended to provide information about the upcoming budget process, including challenges the district is facing as some federal funding and increased projections of recapture, which is now expected to exceed $100 million. Azaiez said the district is not likely to consider terminating staff to remediate budgetary issues.

“I encourage our community to join us during these sessions to learn more about this critical issue impacting our schools and to contact their legislators to voice their support of increasing funding for public education,” Azaiez said.
