Round Rock ISD officials could choose to make summer school plans for 2023 official at an upcoming meeting.

Programs for elementary, middle and high school students in the district are on the agenda for the RRISD board of trustees meeting Feb. 16. New and continuing programs are included in the district's plan, which meets legislative requirements such as those set out by House Bill 4545, which mandates supplemental learning acceleration, among other initiatives to combat COVID-19-driven learning loss.

An overview of programming from the district is below.
  • Elementary programming
    • Emergent Bilingual Prekindergarten and Kindergarten
    • Emergent Bilingual Newcomers’ Summer Learning (first through fourth grade)
  • LAUNCH!
    • For students whose State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness 2023 performance demonstrates additional need. Students in this program will receive accelerated instruction in both reading and math, according to the district. This program will meet the requirements of HB 4545.
  • Programs for secondary students
    • Social Emotional Learning Camp: middle school
    • Advanced Math Camp: middle school
    • Propel: middle school
      • For students whose State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness 2023 performance demonstrates additional need. Students in this program will receive accelerated instruction in both reading and math, according to the district. This program will meet the requirements of HB 4545.
    • Summer Acceleration: high school
