Round Rock ISD announced Feb. 24 that school is canceled for the day due to inclement weather.

Previously, the district announced a two-hour delayed start as a hazardous weather outlook was issued by the National Weather Service on Feb. 23.

The area is under a winter weather advisory until noon Feb. 24 with freezing rain and a light glaze of ice predicted on elevated surfaces. It is possible that overpasses, elevated walkways and bridges could become icy and slippery, according to the NWS.

Precautions suggested by the NWS include driving slowly and to prepare for possible power outages. Active updates on road conditions are available at http://drivetexas.org.
