From French-inspired restaurants to ramen eateries, the Austin area has had new restaurants open and several on the way. This list is not comprehensive.

1. Nikala Georgian & Eastern European Restaurant

The restaurant serves a variety of Georgian cuisine, with appetizers such as eggplant rolls, deep fried cheese grits or pkhali, which is a traditional Georgian appetizer made with a combination of spinach, beets and bell peppers.

2. Restaurant François

A French-American restaurant is now open in downtown Austin, in the AMLI building, helmed by Guy and Larry Restaurants along with chef and proprietor Harold Marmulstein. Highlights of the menu at Restaurant François include seafood such as the Maine Lobster Thermidor, crudos, dry-aged steaks and dishes such as the Boneless Wagyu Short Ribs Bourguignon and Stuffed Lamb Saddle en Croute.3. Tropical Smoothie Cafe


Bastrop residents can now grab a freshly blended drink at Tropical Smoothie Cafe, which opened its doors in the Burleson Crossing shopping center in late November, joining other recently opened eateries, including Volcano Sushi and Ramen, Jeremiah’s Italian Ice, Chipotle and Smokey Mo's BBQ.Coming soon

4. Buffalo Wild Wings Go

Customers can submit takeout and delivery orders through the Buffalo Wild Wings app or website, calling or visiting the store, or using a third-party delivery app like Uber Eats, DoorDash and Grubhub. The to-go restaurant allows customers to pick up their meals using a locker system. The restaurant serves different types of wings, crispy chicken dippers, burgers, sandwiches and appetizers.5. Haji Moto Ramen & Sake Bar

Owned by Jerry Thompson and Yusuke Iwai, the local spot will serve up authentic ramen with housemade noodles, chicken karaage and gyoza, according to previous Community Impact reporting. Customers can also enjoy Japanese cocktails, sake and whiskey.6. Toasted Yolk

The Toasted Yolk will open a location in Round Rock, a project filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation shows. The Toasted Yolk offers a menu centered around Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch, as well as specialty donuts and beverages.
