The gist
The project, part of a $274 million bond package approved in 2023, saw its first tilt walls go up this December after construction on the sports facility began in July.
The center’s expansion will add two basketball courts, a secondary entrance, championship court seating and more parking. The project will also allow the facility, located at 2400 Chisholm Trail in Round Rock, to increase its rental opportunities. According to a news release, the city offers 276 hours of playtime weekly at the sports center, but receives requests for 340 hours of playtime a week.
Construction is expected to wrap up by early 2026.
