Young residents in the northwest side of Round Rock, in the Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District, can get excited for new play equipment at the Sendero Springs Park, as the BCMUD board of directors approved construction plans for the park’s playscape.

The impact

Beginning as soon as August, the play area will be closed while the project is ongoing. Renovations are expected to be complete by early 2025, according to the permit filed by BCMUD with the state.

The project—part of the district's Parks and Open Spaces master plan—is currently out to bid with construction scheduled to follow, according to an announcement from BCMUD. The project is expected to cost a total of $200,000.

Visitors will still have access to the rest of the park, which includes:
  • Trails
  • Barbecue grills
  • Basketball courts
  • Heated pool
  • Pavilion
  • Picnic Tables
  • Restrooms
The 7.5-acre park also features caves, maintained in partnership with the Texas Cave Conservancy, to protect endangered species, according to the district’s website.
