Economic development agreements with Fisher-Rosemount Systems and Sabey Data Centers were approved by the Round Rock City Council Feb. 24.

In the first agreement of the night, Sabey Data Centers—a company seeking to bring a data center to the city—will bring 20 primary jobs to Round Rock over the course of five years, making $185 million in real property improvements and $5 million in business personal property investments at its 1300 Louis Henna Blvd. office.

According to the performance-based agreement, upon demolition, completion and occupation of its facilities, SDC will receive up to $1 million in two separate payments from the Round Rock Transportation and Economic Development Corp. The incentive provided by the city will cover half of the demolition costs, which must be completed by the end of this year, according to Jordan Robinson, Round Rock Chamber interim CEO.

The second agreement for electrical equipment manufacturer Fisher-Rosemount Systems requires a minimum $9 million investment in real property improvements and business personal property through upgrading an existing facility at its existing 1100 W. Louis Henna Blvd. office. The agreement also stipulates creation of up to 50 or 60 primary jobs. Once the terms of the agreement are met, Fisher-Rosemount Systems may receive two economic incentive payments totaling $500,000. The agreement does include clawbacks, should the stipulations of performance-based measures not be met.
