Plano ISD considering two draft calendars for 2022-23 school year
Staff considered several factors when putting together the calendars, Senior Executive Director for Communications Lesley Range-Stanton told the board. Those factors included community preferences, the 75,600 instructional minutes required by the state, balanced semesters, testing calendars, alignment with Collin College dual credit courses, placement and duration of breaks, student activities and graduation.
McKinney City Council approves requests for concrete recycling facility
A project that would bring about 54 acres from the city’s extraterritorial jurisdiction into the city of McKinney and allow for a concrete recycling facility in this area has been given the green light to move forward with development.
Highway expansions seek to address growth of McKinney
“We are coming down the homestretch,” said Michael Rey, North Texas Tollway Authority spokesperson. “We are on schedule [and] on budget. Everything is going as planned.”

New 1,620-acre community under development in Hockley
Development is underway on Jubilee, a 1,620-acre community in Hockley, officials with Johnson Development announced in an Oct. 19 news release. Officials said the neighborhood is designed to spark joy and positivity.
