Round Rock-area students looking to gain experience in city operations can choose from several summer internship opportunities.

Starting at $16 per hour, applications for high school, undergraduate and graduate-level internship programs across different departments within the city of Round Rock opened Feb. 24.

Applicants can choose from internship programs in the following departments:
  • Transportation
  • Finance
  • Human resources
  • Information
  • Information technology support
  • Information technology, geographic information systems
  • Communications and marketing
  • Police department (civilian)
  • Planning and development services
  • General services, building construction
  • Library summer reading program
  • Sports management and tourism, multimedia
  • Sports management and tourism, summer youth camp
To qualify, applicants must be enrolled full-time as a high school senior, or a full-time student or recent graduate of an accredited college or university. Undergraduate and graduate applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and be able to provide an unofficial transcript and resume.
