According to city staff, February's Winter Storm Mara was substantially harsher on Round Rock than both the March 2022 tornado and February 2021 Winter Storm Uri.
City estimates state more than 1 million cubic yards of debris resulted from the ice storm that came through the area Jan. 31-Feb. 3. On a normal year, that figure is around 30,000 cubic yards.
Round Rock staff have created an online dashboard where residents can monitor how the city is progressing with the cleanup and see what neighborhoods crews will visit next to pick up brush and debris.
City staff said it is likely that most of the more than 30,000 homes in Round Rock have been affected by tree damage from Winter Storm Mara.
As of Feb. 22, the city has received 9,750 requests for brush pickup. To send a request, click here.
