Round Rock Public Library patrons will soon be able to charge their electric vehicles in an adjacent parking garage.
The city of Round Rock announced Jan. 12 that the garage attached to the new library, which will open Jan. 28, will include charging stations for electric vehicles. The first hour of charging will be free with the second and third hour being $2 each. Charging times greater than four hours will be $4 per hour with a maximum rate of $50.
These are the first electric vehicle charging stations to be included in a city facility. The completed $29.8 million library project was funded by $23.2 million in voter-approved funds with the remainder paid for through Type B sales tax revenue.
