The first Texas location of the restaurant opened in mid-May, bringing a fast-casual model and a menu including burritos, tacos, bowls, quesadillas and more that can be customized with a variety of proteins, toppings and house-made sauces, according to the business. This location is locally owned by Mikita Mirani.
The food truck locally owned by Ryan and Erica Chody is now open in the Sunset on the ‘Rise Food Truck Park. Named for a beloved dog, Ryan Chody said the food truck will offer authentic, slow-smoked BBQ cooked over a traditional offset smoker. Creasy’s offers prime brisket, pulled pork, smoked turkey breast, pork spare ribs and pulled ham as well as breakfast tacos. Customers can also order prepped meals from Creasy's through the business's website.
Michelin-starred chefs Phillip Frankland Lee and Margarita Kallas-Lee opened a neighborhood-style Italian restaurant in a space formerly occupied by Odd's Bar + Bistro, which closed in March. The menu includes thin-crust pizzas, with Kallas-Lee's sourdough starter in the mix; handmade pastas, appetizers and salads; as well as secondi and desserts. Beverage options include Italian wines from smaller producers; local brews such as St. Elmo's Carl Kölsch and (512) Brewing's Pecan Porter; and a cocktail menu featuring both classics and original mixed drinks.
Dr. Charu Sawhney, an internal medicine primary care physician, opened the private practice in Round Rock. The practice provides primary care services for adults, including annual physicals, chronic disease management, preventative screenings and more. The office also offers weight management and hormone therapy services.
The first Round Rock location of the China-based retailer opened in the La Frontera Village retail center in May. The store is known for affordable household goods, ranging from stationary to plush toys.
The discount fashion retailer offers clothing, shoes and accessories for children, infants, men and women. Clothing is also offered in juniors and extended sizing. In addition to apparel, the store offers electronics and home items. Previously, the company operated under the name Melrose Family Fashions.
The Hispanic grocery store sells meats, produce, baked goods, canned goods and beverages. Customers will find a variety of marinated meats, seasoned with traditional Mexican flavors that are ready to cook. The grocer has locations throughout Central Texas, including in Austin, Georgetown, San Marcos, Buda and beyond.
The beauty retailer carries a wide selection of products including skin and haircare, makeup and fragrance. The store opened within the outlet mall across from the Puma and Auntie Anne's shops.
Coming soon
The retailer offers a variety of merchandise such as apparel for men, women and children; accessories, footwear and home decor. The store will open in a converted 24,327-square-foot space formerly home to Joanne Crafts.
The Brazilian steakhouse will open in a space formerly home to the Cork & Barrel Pub in Round Rock, future general manager of the location Ali Momin confirmed to Community Impact via email. The property was sold in a bankruptcy auction earlier this year. Filings show the buyer was Maurice Rosenstein, the same owner of the Casa do Brasil location in Waco. The restaurant offers authentic churrasco dining, in which premium cuts of meat are slow-roasted over an open flame and carved tableside.
A drive-thru location of the beverage truck offering a variety of dirty soda combinations, will open near Sam Bass Road. Locally owned by franchise owners Bill and Rosie Rhoades, the future space will include a video game room, cozy library corner, card and board games as well as free Wi-Fi. The opening of the new location will not lead to the closure of their Fizz Fuzion beverage truck located in the food truck park at 1 Indian Meadows Drive, Round Rock.
Healing Hearts Animal Urgent Care
The practice is intended to fill a gap between primary veterinary services and emergency room services, offering urgent medical care for pets experiencing symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, ear infections, wounds or injuries, allergic reactions, limping or sudden discomfort. Staff will evaluate pets, provide treatment and offer owners guidance for the next steps. The care center, which will also provide advanced surgical services, will work with the owners' regular vet’s office to provide continuity of care. The office plans to utilize an online check-in system to minimize wait times. While the practice plans to open in June, an official grand opening celebration is scheduled for July 11, featuring games, raffles, complimentary snacks, goodie bags and educational opportunities.
What’s next?
A project filing registered in April with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation shows the sports retailer might open in the Round Rock Premium Outlets later this year. Per the filing, the retailer could spend up to $400,000 to renovate its future tenant space.
Closings
The brewery closed in April amid filing for bankruptcy, owner Clint Bradley shared via social media. The brewery was opened in June 2023 by Ross Winner, Clint Bradley and Amy Bradley, with a gaming and nerd-culture driven spin on its interior. Many of the beers on tap at 3rd Level were inspired by classic comics and games.
The boutique, which hosted a variety of local vendors and artisans in booths for rent, closed in April amid bankruptcy, impacting all locations. The Round Rock location, which opened in December 2024, was the 55th boutique to open. It occupied a space formerly home to Bed Bath & Beyond.

Allen R. Baca Center for Senior and Community Activities
The senior center celebrated 20 years of serving the greater Round Rock community in April. The center first opened in March 2006, as one of the first city-owned senior centers in the area. At the time, it was also one of the largest at 29,000 square feet. It is named for Allen R. Baca, who worked with the city to open the city's original Round Rock Senior Activity Center on Main Street in 1993.
