Buddy's Burger
The restaurant opened its third location in Round Rock in May. The local chain is owned by Zain, Isha and Saad Fidai. Buddy's Burger offers handmade burgers, hand spun milkshakes and seasoned fries and has two other locations in Austin and San Marcos.

The third Austin-area location of the Daiquiri shop opened in Round Rock in April. The store's offerings include frozen, wine-based daiquiris in a variety of flavors to-go. Like other Austin-area locations, customers can order drinks inside the store and take them home. The location is co-owned by Linoy Mathen and Josh Byers. Both are from Pflugerville, Mathen said.

Thrive Pet Healthcare expanded its services in Round Rock with the opening of the center in April. The 24-hour center provides both emergency and specialty veterinary care to cats and dogs. Specialties offered include internal medicine, veterinary oncology, chemotherapy, specialty dentistry, surgery and orthopedics, among others.

The owners of Hutto Music School—Anastasiia Zuieva and Oscar Ibragimov—expanded their services to Round Rock with the opening of Round Rock Music School in May. The music school offers lessons in guitar, piano and violin. Zuieva said it will also provide lessons in music history and solfege, a technique for developing musical skills. It began enrolling students in May.

A new wound care clinic opened at the medical center in March. The clinic is for those experiencing acute or chronic wounds. Conditions treated at the center include burns, diabetic ulcers, traumatic wounds, soft tissue necrosis, gangrene, crush injuries and many more. A team of specialists use hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatment to promote vascular formation, encourage the body’s healing cells and inhibit bacterial growth, according to St. David’s HealthCare. The treatment, which typically takes two hours, utilizes a hyperbaric chamber to deliver oxygen to wounds.

The emergency care facility started offering its services to the community on April 7. It moved into the space previously occupied by Five Star ER. Individuals can find 24/7 emergency care for trauma, injuries, COVID-19 rapid testing, imaging and lab services. Emergency care illnesses include appendicitis, chest pain, cellulitis, skin rashes, heat strokes and more. The company has 10 locations in Texas including Dallas, Irving, McKinney, Cypress, Spring, Burleson, Frisco, Lufkin, Conroe and Round Rock.

Owned by Angelie Esquivel and Christian Esquivel, the STEAM-based gymnasium offers hands-on learning through curriculum-based classes. Classes range from parent participation classes to independent learning such as gymnastics and ninja warrior lessons. Children four months to 12 years old can enjoy the gym’s offerings and participate in camps hosted for summer, kids night out, open gym and days off school.

Arrow Child Development Center
The center will open in Round Rock in June, offering childcare for children ages 1-5 years old. The business is locally owned by Victoria Dixon, who said her in-home facility will provide holistic play-based curriculum for children in her care. Class sizes will be small and the facility will also offer a year-round splash program. Onsite therapy practices will also be available, Dixon said, to make services more easily available for families. Dixon said her facility is also eco-conscious, uses non-toxic chemicals for cleaning, and meals provided are made with organic foods.

A sign that reads “available for lease” with contact information has been listed on the front door of the restaurant. The landowner of the space said the building is now up for lease, but they are unsure when the restaurant officially closed. The restaurant has yet to make any announcements on social media regarding relocation plans.

The business announced in a Facebook post that its San Antonio location would stay open, but the Round Rock location’s services would shut down in mid-April. The business offered private birthday parties and group events featuring inflatable slides, giant bounce houses and more.
