Ascension Seton announced a partnership with the Round Rock Express on Feb. 2, making Ascension the official health care provider of the Texas Rangers’ Triple-A affiliate.

Two-minute impact

In the upcoming months, there will be a collaborative effort between the companies to engage in community initiatives. This will involve monthly campaigns to raise awareness about both physical and mental health, according to an Express news release.

The collaboration is aimed to further Ascension Seton’s mission of health, wellness and family-focused lifestyles.

“We really wanted this to be about the kids and the family,” Adam Bauman, the vice president of orthopedics, sports and rehab services, told Community Impact. “We are the official medical educators for the Texas High School Coaches Association. We provide content around heat illness, and that is a big deal. Also, mental health is a huge opportunity to look at what's going on with our kids today. With social media and performance anxiety—those kinds of things—it is real.”

Ascension Seton also has partnerships with Round Rock ISD as well as Lonestar Soccer Club in Central Texas, one of the largest soccer clubs in the country, according to Bauman.

The health care provider provides on-field athletic trainers for practices and major events, ensuring the health and safety of roughly 10,000 kids.

Serving as the exclusive medical partner for Round Rock ISD, which includes six high schools and nine middle schools, Ascension extends similar services, such as providing athletic trainers for Friday night football and other related activities.

“Dell Children's has a long history of serving children and families by providing comprehensive health, wellness and emergency services in child-friendly environments,” Dell Children’s President Michael Wiggins said in a news release. “Our collaboration with Round Rock Express further demonstrates our dedication to helping children live healthier lives in Central Texas and beyond."

Looking ahead

Ascension Seton will be responsible for delivering comprehensive medical services throughout events at Dell Diamond, overseeing the operations of the first aid room.

The Round Rock Express will kick off the 2024 season at home March 29 against the Sugar Land Space Cowboys.
