Quick Pharmacy, which has operated in Round Rock for over 100 years, is under new ownership as of Jan. 1. Pharmacists Gilbert and Randi Sarmiento purchased the historic pharmacy from Nacogdoches-based ARK Pharmacies, which had owned Quick Pharmacy for six years.

Gilbert Sarmiento said his family relocated to the area from The Woodlands to take over the pharmacy, as the previous owners were looking to have an owner-operator in-store.

"I got lucky," Sarmiento said. "They were like, 'Hey, do you want to do do this? Because I think that it's time to get somebody in there that has a little bit of experience.'"

Over the coming months, Sarmiento said he and his wife, Randi, plan to expand the pharmacy's offerings. Quick Pharmacy, located at 701 E. Palm Valley Blvd., Round Rock, offers compounding, which allows for prescriptions to be tailored to patients, as well as typical over-the-counter medicines. 512-255-2422.
