Some Round Rock businesses closed their doors permanently in 2022, for a variety of reasons. This is a nonexhaustive list.

1. Round Rock CVS location to close in November

The CVS Pharmacy located at 7001 Wyoming Springs Blvd., Round Rock, closed Nov. 3. A manager of the store confirmed the closure was due to lack of demand at that location. Other locations throughout the city will remain open, including the store nearest this location at 800 W. Old Settlers Blvd., Round Rock.

2. Long Island Deli closes in Round Rock amid supply chain, staffing issues

Long Island Deli announced its closing July 5, just a few weeks after its May 24 opening. The deli, located in the former Little Red Wagon building at 1207 E. Palm Valley Blvd., Round Rock, closed due to issues obtaining supplies from the East Coast as well as difficulty hiring staff.


3. Cactus Nights Sports Bar demolished to make way for new dance hall and bar

Demolition began on the Cactus Nights Sports Bar building in March to make way for a new dance hall and bar at 109 N. Sheppard St., Round Rock. The property was recently purchased by the Villarreal family, which owns the Long Branch Saloon and La Esquina Cantina. Minerva Villarreal told Community Impact that it is too early in the process to share details like a name or when the new venue might open.

4. Greenhouse Craft Food closing in Round Rock after 9 years

Greenhouse Craft Foods closed its Round Rock location Oct. 16 after nine years of operation. Located at 1400 E. Old Settlers Blvd., Ste. 110, the restaurant offered a variety of food made from locally grown ingredients. Owner Rob Snow said the restaurant will continue food trailer operations at Black Sparrow Music Parlor, 113 W. Second St., Taylor. 5. Beluga Japanese Restaurant closes in Round Rock

Beluga Japanese Restaurant at 661 Louis Henna Blvd., Ste. 300, Round Rock, is closed as of July 13, according to a notice posted on its door. The Japanese restaurant offered a variety of sushi, ramen, seafood and mixed drinks. www.belugasushi.net
