Amy Kerley, Shop Small Society co-founder and owner of Mercantile on Main and Haute Boutique, said customers will be able to pick up paper copies of the passport at several small businesses on that date after they are distributed. Once available online, they may also be printed out at home.
"The goal here is to really emphasize and support the concept of community over competition," Kerley said. "We all have the same end goal here, which is to support each other and raise families and provide an income and stability for our families."
From Nov. 1-Dec. 11, shoppers can visit participating stores to collect stamps. Once stamps are collected for all participating businesses, shoppers can return their passport to their local participating business to be entered for a drawing for a grand prize of one $100 gift card to each of the 15 participating businesses.
"There's no purchase required to participate; you just go in," Kerley said. "The idea is just to bring awareness to the shop so that we can continue to get customers' business even after the holidays."
An additional stamp can be earned by bringing a new, unwrapped toy to a "Pay it Forward" fundraising event on Dec. 4 at My Party Place, located at 208 W. Bagdad Ave., Round Rock. This additional stamp will earn another entry into the drawing for participating shoppers.
