The Round Rock Public Library will offer a competition for small startups to gain initial capital.

The Business Plan Competition for Round Rock Entrepreneurs is an opportunity for those with for-profit business plans to win a $10,000 prize. The winner of the competition will receive $7,500 in cash, a Dell computer worth $2,500 and a consultation with a Dell Technology expert. One runner-up will receive a $3,500 cash prize.

Participants must be library cardholders, complete an entry form and be 18 years or older. Other eligibility criteria are available on the city's website. Applications must be received by the library on its competition site no later than 11:59 p.m. on March 31.

The competition is offered through the library's Biz.Ability program. Biz.Ability workshops will be offered from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Fridays in February via Zoom, according to the city.
