Several new businesses are making their way to Round Rock. The latest crop includes coffee companies, a bank and learning centers.


A second Round Rock Dutch Bros Coffee location at 3589 N. I-35 opened March 4 after several months of construction. The Oregon-based coffee chain opened its first Round Rock location in September. 541-955-4700. www.dutchbros.com

Frontier Bank of Texas held a grand opening celebration March 3 for its newest branch at 7509 O’Connor Drive, Round Rock. The Elgin-headquartered community bank renovated an existing building to include a customer lobby, drive-up banking, night deposit and ATM services. This is the bank’s seventh location since it was chartered in 2007. 512-281-1571.

Learning with Ms. M opened a brick-and-mortar location at 2201 Double Creek Drive, Ste. 5001, Round Rock, in late February. Led by a certified teacher with 10 years of experience, Meri Sue Michalak offers private tutoring services for a variety of academic disciplines, virtual and in-person services, and subscription-based group tutoring. 817-791-4467

Round Rock-based Stone Stash Coffee & Provisions began delivering air-roasted coffee in March. Owner Mary Stone said Stone Stash coffee beans are ethically sourced, roasted in small batches and packaged for shipping or free local delivery. 254-324-7018.


Bar Louie at 270 Bass Pro Drive, Round Rock, was scheduled to open in March but was delayed until April, according to a company representative. The gastropub’s menu includes burgers, pasta, seafood, cocktails and beer.

Geode Health will open a practice in Wyoming Springs Medical Center at 7200 Wyoming Springs Drive, Round Rock, in early May, according to a representative. Chicago-based Geode Health offers outpatient mental health services to adults and children in partnership with psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, psychologists and therapists.

Hometown Gift & Decor will host a grand opening 11 a.m.-3 p.m. April 9. Jessica Duarte, Celise Ketch and Amber Markee own the shop located in the historic D.B. Gregg house in downtown Round Rock at 400 E. Main St. The shop will offer home decor and gifts for all ages. 512-243-5847.

A new Kindercare Learning Centers location is expected to open at 2700 Sam Bass Road, Round Rock, in late summer 2022. Kindercare offers early education and day care programs for children 6 weeks-6 years old. 888-525-2780.

Mojo Coffee will occupy one of the tenant spaces of the retail center under construction at 3100 RM 1431, Round Rock, with a planned opening in June barring any construction delays. The coffee chain has locations throughout Central Texas.

On March 8, Shake Shack representatives confirmed plans to open a Round Rock location but stated an opening date is not yet set, nor did they confirm an exact location. However, a city site development permit for a location at 1402 N. I-35 bears the company name. The New York-based restaurant is known for its hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, fries and frozen custard.
