As Pflugerville's Typhoon Texas water park gears up for its summer 2020 season, construction progresses on the park's public access entrance.

The infrastructure project, once completed, will relocate the park's entrance to align with Town Center Drive off FM 685 in Pflugerville.

Weather permitting, the project is on track for a mid-June completion, said Veronica Ramirez, Pflugerville Community Development Corp. marketing communications manager, in a May 12 email.

The project kicked off Feb. 14 following Pflugerville City Council's Jan. 14 awarding of a nearly $1 million contract to Cox Construction.

The left-turn lane entering into the water park has been completed, Ramirez said. She added that additional work remaining for the project includes final pavement markings, construction and paving of a right-turn lane and completion of signal pole installation.

Regarding the right-turn lane, Ramirez said the drainage inlet has already been set, and pavement is expected to be added next week. Following lane paving, the contractor will work on the new driveway.
