With none of the candidates securing at least 50% of the vote, the Hutto City Council Place 6 seat will go to a runoff election.

Incumbent Terri Grimm ended Election Day with 42.7% of the vote, or 378 total votes. Tanner Rose secured 31.9% of the vote, or 283 total votes, and Shawn Lucas ended the night with 25.4% of the vote, or 225 total votes.

All election results are unofficial until canvassed. According to the Texas Secretary of State’s office, results for the May 4 elections must be canvassed in an open meeting of the governing body between May 7 and May 15.

Runoff elections are generally held between 20 and 45 days after the final canvass.

Early voting totals are in for Hutto City Council Place 6.

There were a total of 523 early votes tallied in the election, with 40.5 percent of voters, or 212 total, for incumbent Terri Grimm; 32.7 percent, or 171 total, for Tanner Rose; 26.7 percent, or 140 total, for Shawn Lucas.
