Officials from the city of Round Rock, its Sports Management and Tourism department and the Round Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau hosted grand opening ceremonies for a new multipurpose complex at Old Settlers Park on Thursday nigth
New project includes the following features:
1. 60 acres and $27 million in new development inside the park
2. Two championship fields and eight multipurpose fields
3. One championship field with natural grass and another with a synthetic turf field, and four of the multipurpose fields have natural grass, and the other four have synthetic turf
• Musco sports lighting installed on all 10 fields
• Capable of hosting a variety of sports, including soccer, lacrosse, rugby, ultimate Frisbee, and flag football
• A playground, permanent seating with shade structures for 250 people on each of the championship fields and has the option of additional portable seating.
• A clubhouse with concessions and restrooms and includes 938 parking spaces
• The ability to book in advance, with more than 25 events pre-booked so far this year, and more scheduled for 2018
The city of Round Rock also recently broke ground on a soccer complex in Old Settlers Park. Five existing soccer fields are under renovation to create two multipurpose fields and three individual soccer fields, all with natural grass.
