City of Round Rock officials have planned road closures this weekend, April 27-30, to accommodate the relocation of the Stagecoach Inn.

The historic structure will be transported from its current location at 901 RM 620 to its new home at Bathing Beach Park on Chisholm Trail Road.

Beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday, Chisholm Trail between Emanuel Street and RM 620 will be closed to through traffic until Monday. During that time, crews will build a bridge deck over Brushy Creek to provide additional support as the 100-ton limestone structure is relocated, according to the city.

On Saturday, crews will move the Stagecoach Inn to the bottom of the hill on which it currently stands. Officials are asking the public to avoid the area to allow the crews to focus on their task.

The majority of the move will take place on Sunday, when crews will take the Stagecoach Inn across RM 620 and follow Chisholm Trail to Bathing Beach Park. Beginning at 8 a.m., the intersection of RM 620 and Chisholm Trail will be completely closed until the structure is though the intersection, which crews estimate will take between 15 and 30 minutes. The traffic signals at the intersection will be removed to allow room for the transportation of the structure. Officers will manage traffic at the intersection for another 1-2.5 hours while the signals are re-installed.

The city recommends that drivers find alternate routes Sunday morning to avoid delays and advises that due to the unusual nature of the project, traffic closures are subject to change.
