1. Brushy Creek  Fourth of July Parade and Festival


The Round Rock-area neighborhood celebrates Independence Day with a parade and a festival. Activities include a bounce house, foam pit, inflatable water slide, face painting and food vendors. Free. 9:30 a.m. (parade start), 10 a.m. (festival start). 2. Fast Eddie’s 4th of July hot-dog eating contest


Visit Fast Eddie’s Billiards & Sports Bars around the state on July 3 for a chance to compete in a hot-dog eating contest. 3. Frontier Days celebration, Sertoma Parade


Join the City of Round Rock for a parade, carnival rides, jalapeno pepper eating contests and children’s activities. Free watermelon and fireworks will be followed by the Lego Batman Movie. The parade begins at 10 a.m. on Main St. The festival is from 12-11 p.m. at Old Settlers Park, 3300 Palm Valley Blvd. www.roundrocktexas.gov

4. Pflugerville Pfirecracker Pfestival set for July 4


Free music and assorted food trucks will precede a fireworks display, hosted by the city of Pflugerville. Doors open at 5 p.m., live music by the BlueBonnets and SkyRocket! begins at 6 p.m. The fireworks show starts at approximately 9:15 and is followed by an after-show concert. Pflugerville ISD policy prohibits alcohol and tobacco products at the stadium. A clear bag policy is also in effect with a ban on all diaper bags, purses or backpacks that are not clear.
