Pflugerville ISD named Julie Schier as the new women's athletic coordinator and head volleyball coach for Weiss High School, which will open in fall 2017.
Schier has served in a number of athletic positions in surrounding school districts, including varsity assistant coach and Advancement Via Individual Determination campus coordinator at Round Rock High School; head varsity volleyball coach and department chair for Academic and Career Excellence, Health and Physical Excellence in Leander ISD; and in Cedar Park High School.
Schier has also coached at two Austin private schools and at several club volleyball teams.
"Coach Schier brings a tremendous amount of experience to Weiss, and her proven leadership skills will serve our student-athletes well," Weiss Principal Paula Gamble said.
