Round Rock is pushing the boundaries on its claim to being the Sports Capital of Texas as it hosts an international rugby competition at Dell Diamond on Feb. 11. The United States team will battle the Brazilian rugby team on the newly converted pitch in one of only two Americas Rugby Championships the country will host this year. San Antonio is the location of the other match. Teams playing in the series of games, to be held throughout North and South America include Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Uruguay and the United States. Last year marked the first time the United States rugby team played at Dell Diamond. In 2016, the USA Rugby Eagles played the Canadian team in the inaugural year of the tournament. The U.S. team won 30-22 in front of 7,000 fans who turned out for the game. Tickets to the international match are available online here. The match begins at 6 p.m. Austin is home to three local rugby teams including the Austin Huns and the Austin Blacks for men and the Austin Valkyries for women.
