The Texas Department of Transportation has announced the closure of Riverwalk Drive in Hutto beginning Feb. 13. Detours are expected for approximately six months to allow for northbound construction along FM 685. Drivers are asked to use Great Western Drive as a detour route.

Another road closure will take place on Knowles Drive, and drivers should use Uvalde Drive as the detour route when roadway improvements begin, according to a statement from Hutto ISD.

For traffic southbound on FM 685, there will be no left turn at Hutto High School and no u-turn accessibility at Carl Stern Boulevard. Access points for Hutto High School will be allowed from Front Street, Carl Stern Boulevard or northbound FM 685.

The statement said drivers are asked to use caution, especially during peak school hours, as traffic will be heavy and delays are expected.
