Round Rock ISD is among four Texas school districts awarded the Caudill Award, the highest honor in the annual Exhibit of School Architecture competition, according to a Jan. 14 news release.

The competition is hosted by the Texas Association of School Administrators and Texas Association of School Boards for projects that exemplify excellence in planning and design of the learning environment, the release said.

RRISD won for its Nature to Neighborhood Studio at Laurel Mountain Elementary School. On a bluff between campus and preserved canyonland, the studio is a hybrid of nature and structure, the release said.

Georgetown ISD was also an award recipient.

The Caudill Award winners were chosen from among 34 projects awarded in the areas of community, planning, transformation, design, value and sustainability, the release said.
