Breaking down Round Rock ISD’s bond proposal: Designs for High School No. 6

2

The Round Rock ISD board of trustees voted in August to place a $508.4 million bond proposal on the November ballot.

All of the proposed projects were identified by the board as “critical needs” for the district. Some appeared on the voter-defeated May 2017 bond proposal and have since been altered to come with smaller price tags.

One proposed bond item would fund shovel-ready designs for High School No. 6 with construction of the high school to be proposed in the district’s next bond.

The high school would relieve overcrowding at Round Rock High School and McNeil High School and would be built on district-owned property on Pearson Ranch Road.

See the full list of proposed bond projects here.

  1. I recommend diving into this!! Some of this seems needed, but so is vague and seems excessive! Do we need a $16 Million Dollar Swim Facility? What about $6 Million for a boys locker room???

I have clarified with one current trustee and multiple others associated with the PAC, that HS6 site is to be determined. It no longer is definitely going to be on Pearson property.
You may want to confirm that and amend your reporting. Thanks.
