The Round Rock ISD board of trustees voted in August to place a $508.4 million bond proposal on the November ballot.

All of the proposed projects were identified by the board as “critical needs” for the district. Some appeared on the voter-defeated May 2017 bond proposal and have since been altered to come with smaller price tags.

One of the proposed projects is the construction of a new elementary school coined Elementary School No. 35. The school would be constructed in northeast Round Rock to relieve Linda Herrington Elementary School.

Terry Worcester, chief operating officer for the district, said officials are currently looking for opportunities to purchase land and identify a location that would be appropriate for the school. The land purchase would be covered with funds from a previous bond.
