The latest RRISD moved forward with plans to build a new middle school and a new high school on Pearson Ranch Road in Austin. In December, a decision to redraw middle school attendance boundaries with Pearson Ranch Middle School expected to open in August drew heated opposition from some parents.

What’s next The district needs to figure out how to pay for what would be its sixth high school. A proposed bond election in May is one option. Trustees have until Feb. 17 to call the election.
