The Round Rock Express and Peak Events have partnered to launch the Round Rock Classic—a Division I college baseball tournament—at Dell Diamond.

On Feb. 21-23 next year, the Houston Cougars, Stanford Cardinal, Tennessee Volunteers and Texas Tech Red Raiders will play against each other in a round-robin format, according to a February news release. Each team will play one game per day over three days.

“It’s no secret that Central Texas is home to the best baseball fans around, and we can’t wait to see Dell Diamond play host to some of the best collegiate teams in the country next season,” Round Rock Express President Chris Almendarez said in the release.

Modeled after the Frisco College Baseball Classic, which began in 2017, the Round Rock Classic is slated to run annually on the second weekend of college baseball season.

“We are excited to bring a College Classic to Round Rock,” Director of Peak Events Nathan Wooldridge said in the release. “The Austin area is one of the fastest growing areas in the country and we are thrilled to host some of the nation’s top Division I teams in arguably the top Minor League ballpark in the country.”

Tickets for the 2020 Round Rock Classic will go on sale in June. For more information, visit www.roundrockclassic.net.
