The city of Hutto announced Jan. 5 that Hutto City Hall would be closed to the public until further notice. Public meetings scheduled during the week of Jan. 3 will continue as planned, per the announcement.
The cause for the closure is attributed to protecting the "health and safety" of both citizens and city employees amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
As of Jan. 5, Williamson County has a total of 22,436 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 214 deaths. An additional 548 new cases were reported in Williamson County between Jan. 4 and 5. Williamson County is classified in the red phase, defined as uncontrolled community spread.
