Austin Public Health and the Texas Department of Emergency Management updated operational hours for its downtown Pflugerville coronavirus testing site, now located at 103 N. Railroad Ave., Pflugerville. Beginning Oct. 5, the site will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 7 a.m.-1 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-6 p.m. The testing location is closed on Sundays.
The site primarily operates as a drive-thru facility, per an Oct. 1 city news release, but walk-ups will not be turned away from service. Pflugerville's testing location has a capacity of 300 visitors per day and does not require registration prior to one's visit.
The coronavirus tests administered are saliva tests, per the release. Individuals cough three times and then run a swab along their cheeks to complete the test as administered by a health care worker.
