Pflugerville is the fastest growing area in Travis County. In light of the city's forecasted healthcare needs, Central Health--Travis County’s health care district--is hosting a community conversation and resource fair April 6. Representatives with Central Health, members of Travis County Health and Human Services and Travis County Commissioner Jeffrey Travillion will talk about access to healthcare at the event, according to a March 28 news release. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Rock Gym at Pflugerville High School, 702 West Pecan Street.

Medical advancements

Pflugerville is making strides to expand medical services in the area. In December 2018, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Pflugerville opened its first hospital in Pflugerville. This came just before the opening of a fully-integrated clinic into the Pflugerville Medical Center in October 2018 which brought a dozen medical specialists and general practitioners. Pflugerville also has a rising number of low income residents. Started in 2004, Central Health works to Travis County residents with access to high-quality care through eliminating health disparities. The Community Conversation will discuss common healthcare obstacles for low income communities and will explore future service expansion and community planning efforts in Pflugerville.
