Update 3:50 p.m.: In addition to hosting the 2018 USA Judo Senior National Championships this weekend, Round Rock is also home to the Women’s Collegiate Lacrosse Associates Division I and Division II National Championships.

More than three dozen lacrosse games will be held at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex, located at 2001 N. Kenney Fort Blvd., Round Rock, throughout the week.

The lacrosse championship tournament kicks off Wednesday and concludes with two afternoon championship games Saturday afternoon. The Division II National Championship game begins Saturday at noon, with the Division I National Championship game following shortly thereafter at 2:30 p.m.

Division I includes 16 teams and Division II includes 12 teams. The University of Texas' lacrosse team is the 15th seed in the Division I bracket and plays the University of Georgia Wednesday, May 9 at 2 p.m.

Original post: Round Rock will host the 2018 USA Judo Senior National Championships for the first time this weekend, May 12-13, according to a press release.

“We are looking forward to bringing the 2018 USA Judo Senior National Championships to Round Rock,” USA Judo CEO Keith Bryant said in the release. “The Round Rock Sports Center is one of the newer and nicer venues we’ve been to, and its open setting and other amenities are perfect for us to bring in several hundred of the top judo players in the United States for this national event."

The event will take place at the Round Rock Sports Center, located at 2400 Chisholm Trail, Round Rock.

“We are pleased that the location, flexibility and size of the Round Rock Sports Center makes for an ideal venue for the top judo players in the U.S. to compete for their national championships,” said Nancy Yawn, director of the Round Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau. “Judo is an exciting mixed-martial-arts sport. We hope all of the players, their families and spectators enjoy a full weekend of judo competition, and all of the good food, shopping and entertainment that Round Rock has to offer here in the Sports Capital of Texas.”

The competition will take place 8 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday. Adult admission is $17 and admission for children ages 9-12 is $10. Children under age 8 are free. On Sunday, the competition will take place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and admission is free.
