56 townhomes proposed for Gattis School Road in Round Rock

Plans for Townhomes at Gattis, a proposed 56-unit multifamily project at Gattis School Road and Joyce Lane in Round Rock, advanced July 11.

Round Rock City Council voted to rezone a 6.5-acre tract from single family to multifamily, low density. The new zoning allows for a maximum of 12 units per acre and buildings up to 2 1/2 stories in height.

Brad Wiseman, Round Rock’s director of planning and development services, presented the current proposal to City Council the evening of July 11.

Referred to as Townhomes at Gattis in city documents, plans call for 56 townhomes, a park, a playscape, a fitness center, a pool, a barbecue area and an event pavilion, Wiseman said.

The property will have at least one entrance and exit on Gattis School Road. City transportation plans call for widening the roadway to a six-lane, divided road with a median to prevent left turns into and out of the property, Wiseman said.

A timeline for the development has not been released at this time.
