Six months after former Pflugerville City Manager Brandon Wade submitted his resignation letter, the city has found a full time replacement for the position.

Sereniah Breland will become Pflugerville city manager, effective Aug. 13, following a decision out of executive session at Tuesday night’s city council meeting.

"Her energy and flexibility in municipal government coupled with expertise in managing culture and facilitating long-range planning complement the direction Pflugerville is headed," Mayor Victor Gonzales said in a press release Tuesday night.

Breland has more than a decade of experience in the public sector and most recently served as city manager for the city of Alvin. The new city manager additionally has previous experience as city manager for the city of Guthrie and City Administrator for Goliad, according to the city of Pflugerville.

The search for the new Pflugerville City Manager began Jan. 9, two weeks after Wade submitted a resignation letter. Wade had served as city manager since 2010.

On Jan. 9, council approved retaining Strategic Government Resources to conduct the search for the new city manager.

Trey Fletcher has acted as Pflugerville City Manager since Feb. 13 after city council approved his appointment. Fletcher has worked for the city in some capacity as far back as 2006, serving as assistant city manager since 2011.
