The Round Rock City Council is scheduled to consider economic development agreements for the Ruby Hotel and Rosco Laboratories, Inc. at its regular meeting Thursday, March 8.

The first agreement deals with the Ruby Hotel, a 39-room boutique hotel planned for three acres in downtown Round Rock at 304 Fannin Ave. If approved, the agreement calls for the creation of at least 35 jobs and would generate a $4.5 million capital investment.

The second agreement proposal on the agenda involves the relocation of Rosco Laboratories, Inc. to a 4,000-square-foot building at 1600 Chisholm Trail, Round Rock. The company manufactures lighting and lighting effects for theater, film and television and has been located in Round Rock since 1994. The business committed to purchasing their building as well as a $950,000 capital investment, according to the agreement. The business will transfer 30 full-time employees.
