At Thursday night's Round Rock City Council meeting, council members unanimously voted to shift the regular meeting time, set for the second and fourth Thursdays at 7 p.m., forward an hour to 6 p.m.
The 6 p.m. meeting time will go into effect the first meeting in October.

At Tuesday's Round Rock City Council packet meeting, City Manager Laurie Hadley announced the council will vote on an ordinance to change regular meeting times from 7 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of the month.
Hadley said this change has come from citizen feedback over the years. She said citizens have said they do not wish to go home from work and then make their way back to city hall for the meeting.
If council approves this change, the new meeting time would go into effect with the October 12 meeting. Planning and Zoning Commission meeting times would be adjusted as well.
Mayor Craig Morgan said the council had examined this issue in years past, but ultimately stuck with the 7 p.m. time when one council member couldn't make the meeting at 6 p.m.
"I think it will be more public friendly, but it will take a little time to get used to," Morgan said.
